“We breathe revolution. We are LSD-crazed maniacs of the universe.”
-John Sinclair (founder White Panther Party)
While a lot of attention is paid to the use of psychedelics for personal growth, mental health and other personal insights, the fact is that psychedelics and in particular LSD functioned as a tool of political and cultural liberation for thousands of youth all over the world in the 60s and 70s. Many of them became psychedelic warriors in the struggle to create a new society and carry out a revolution.
Larry (PreSkool) Weissman was one of these and he is going to tell the story of two groups of such warriors: the Good Earth Commune and the White Panther Party. Along with an exhibit of historical items which will be on display at the Psychedelic Assembly, Larry (former member of both the Good Earth and the White Panthers) will be in conversation with Suzy Baker from the Psychedelic Assembly as he unfolds the little known history of the Good Earth Commune and White Panther Party in the San Francisco Bay area in the 70s, with a focus on the lessons to be learned for our current situation here in the United States.
